Our Story
Baraka Community and Family Centre was founded in 2018 with a simple yet powerful vision: to create a space where families and communities could come together, support one another, and thrive.
Born from the recognition that many families in our community were facing isolation, digital exclusion, and limited access to support services, Baraka began as a grassroots initiative led by local residents who believed in the power of community connection.
The name "Baraka" comes from the Arabic word meaning "blessing" or "divine grace," reflecting our belief that every person brings unique gifts and potential to our community. Over the years, we have grown from a small volunteer-led organization to a vital community hub serving hundreds of families across our local area.
Today, Baraka Community Centre stands as a testament to what can be achieved when communities come together with shared purpose and unwavering commitment to supporting one another.
